HSE Advisor

Context

As an HSE Advisor, you actively contribute to the implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of the organisation’s Health & Safety policy.
Working in close collaboration with your direct manager and the relevant departments, you play a key role in the pragmatic and rigorous implementation of a risk management system.
Your mission is to help ensure the safety of all employees and visitors, maintain business continuity, and guarantee compliance with legal requirements and the company’s internal standards.

Your position

Your responsabilities include : 

• Conducting and coordinating risk assessments and identifying preventive measures.
• Elaborates & drafts internal procedures and safe working methods to ensure effective risk management and compliance with legal expectations.
• Proactively monitoring health & safety regulations and providing relevant communication to stakeholders.
• Participate in the development & monitoring of health & safety performance indicators, and proposing corrective and improvement actions.
• Participating in Health & Safety Committee meetings, and managing secretarial tasks related to these meetings.
• Attending operational team meetings to raise awareness and support the implementation of risk control measures and legal obligations.
• Identifying and supporting the development of key competencies by designing and promoting training programmes tailored to organisational needs.
• Assisting stakeholders in the event of a workplace accident: liaising with external contacts, conducting root cause analyses, and proposing additional safety measures.
• Participating in workplace inspections, identifying physical risks and legal non-conformities, and ensuring appropriate reporting.
• Collaborating on the implementation of digital tools for tracking compliance levels.
• Designing and coordinating awareness campaigns related to well-being at work.

Your scope of work includes both the Brussels headquarters and our 15 branch offices across Belgium.

You report directly to the Health & Safety Manager.

Your profile

• You hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree.
• You are certified as a Prevention Advisor – Level 2 (at minimum).
• 3 to 5 years experience as HSE advisor or in a similar role
• You have a ‘can-do’ mindset and are solution-oriented.
• You have an excellent command of French and English, and a good working knowledge of Dutch.
• You possess strong knowledge of health, safety and well-being legislation.
• You are proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• You are communicative, persuasive, and motivating in your approach.
